2.Caspersen Beach

caspersen Beach

While visiting Cape Coral we decided to make a day trip to this destination beach. The hour trip was well worth our time. The kids enjoyed diving after fish with their scuba mask and hunting for shark teeth. We didn't come prepared with all the fancy shark teeth hunting gear but we ended up finding a few. One found while snorkeling and the others found shifting with our fishing nets. They have a bathroom we used for changing in and out of our swim suits(no changing rooms). They also have an on-site playground. We had a great day. Only advice I'd give is watch for storms during raining season. We got all our gear soaked walking back to our car. world travel

3.Oval Beach

One of my favorite beaches in West Michigan.  Plenty of parking, bring a cooler and avoid the concession stand.  You're going to want to arrive before 11am if you want a decent spot on the beach.  What more can I say, it's the bees knees.

I was shocked at how empty this beach was when we went - though it was Saturday later afternoon/evening, there was still plenty of sunlight left and it was HOT. Concessions close at 5 I think and parking is $10. The bathrooms are a little gross in the way that anything always wet is, so not their fault. Had a fantastic time snorkeling and watching the turtles. However, it was very disconcerting and disappointing watching people get far too close and almost touching the turtles. Ended up having to play park ranger and telling people off. Also had many locals screaming obscenities at everyone on the beach. I get their frustration but getting screamed “turtle killers” and  all of you” every ten minutes got old. There are signs along the road ago the locals being angry and don’t come to this beach.  Some of us on the beach are very respectful, actively helping (and took the bus so you can’t complain about traffic impact.) 20.Lido Key Beach

My 2nd favorite beach in all of Florida. I have been here probably 30 times in the past year. It’s has plenty of parking either in the public lots or on the street. There’s also a public park around the bend at the southernmost point of the key with tons of parking. The water is gorgeous, and generally clean. The sand is mostly natural so it does have sea shells. There is a lifeguard shack and public restrooms nearby. It’s kind of a best kept secret in my opinion since everyone goes to Siesta Key. I’d rather go her than Siesta. And my #1 Beach is Clearwater (about an hour north).
A lovely beach perfect for families. I’m so glad they restored the beach by bringing back the sand. Now that there is more sand, people have plenty of room to spread out and relax. I always find beautiful shells while walking on Lido beach. Not nearly as crowded as Siesta beach. Convenient parking, yummy restaurant, and restrooms! My favorite place to watch the sunset too. Definitely will continue visiting Lido Beach!
