Let's start the day in Phucket town where I think we are going to miss the airport bus so I venture down the road while Amelia prepares toast at the guest house. Marching along like I've got this...I miss the road I'm suppose to turn down. Google maps is failing me and not connecting so I have to ask multiple locals where's the bus station. Sweating with all of my gear I run..that was a sight...and arrive at the bus RIGHT ON TIME. Amelia had to even ask them to wait for me. Felt like an idiot for that one. Of course that's not where it ends for the day, because why would it?Traveling to Bali became a larger expense than I planned for, after getting two separate flights to save on travel time and costs...it backfired for me! We did not pay to have bags checked, although I assumed this was included with international flights like it had been everywhere else! I stand corrected. We were able to slide by on the first flight because it was such an empty flight the man at the ticket counter said go ahead and carry on

Honeymoonin. All fine and dandy until I try to go through security remembering that MY SHEARS are in my bag! I ran back paid $35 to check my bag and plopped back down in a cloud of frustration. This is the second security problem I've ran into, the first being the utility tool/knife that Ces bought for me to bring on this trip. In Singapore we go through customs, get my bag, go check in for our flight, I recheck my bag...$35 more, back through customs, run to subway (my airport meals have now consisted of Burger King and subway ha!) through security and arrive at our next flight on last call. You should have seen us throwing back some subway as it was our first time eating that day! Never, I repeat, NEVER fly Tiger airlines....I thought we were getting a deal and all of our other flights within Thailand had been great, especially Bangkok airways with their luxury lounge, but this is one of those airlines that charges $4 for a mini water...yes I bought it...and yes I also paid for wine...it was one of those days! We show up in Despensar and need to get a ride to Ubud...an hour and a half away.

There are no buses that we can navigate and get a taxi. He mentions a tip because it's so far away and I agree he needs one. Arriving in Ubud without a place to stay yet he drops us at a mini mart at the popular part of town, here's to our first time winging it! I go to tip him and he laughs at the amount I give, yet I have no small bills and really don't know this money system. I'm sorry cab driver #104 I will be sending you so many positive thoughts in my time, because I realize now I only tipped you a mere .36 cents :( I still feel like a jerk! We decide to get food and use wifi to figure out our next moves. The first place that we come by is Indian food. Not thai? Sure lets go here! Wow! Such amazing food!!!! I'm actually back here two days later writing this entry now! The rain starts to pour down outside, as it just starts now! Sitting at this restaurant I begin to crack...I fall apart...for the 112th time on this trip

Banana pancakes in the mornin, where's jack?!! I cry about my anxiety, money, confusion, the way I've acted, the things I haven't found out about myself yet, how disgusted I am about this things I have found out...I'm a mess. This is when the universe takes a turn, it says Jacquie I'm done testing you for a bit, you need a good nights sleep!

We devise a plan to get to the first place we see and inquire en route to a hostel that shows it has availability. While walking past some guest houses (where we really were hoping to stay but unsure how to book) a young man asks if we need a place to stay, that he has a room left at his guesthouse. Here all of our senses go on high alert as we walk down this well lit cobblestone road. My gut feels fine yet I'm still cautious. He leads us to a true guesthouse with a sign out front and others residing there for their stay. He shows us the room and we just look astonished, it's too good to be true...king size bed, luxurious bathroom, for under $20 YES we will take it! Unfortunately we could only stay one night but man that honeymoon suite turned our travel day around. Sitting outside on the balcony a young woman brings us coffee and tea with a hot water thermos, the next morning Amelia goes to search for the breakfast they mentioned...without luck. 5 minutes later a man comes up and asks if we would like an omelet or a banana pancake....is this heaven?? We walk up and down the street of guesthouses and move to another a couple houses down with a pool....it's still nice for the price but nothing will beat the way we felt that first night in Bali.

Immediately after checking into our new location we are booking tours and within 15 minutes we are on the back of scooters with the homeowners nephews. They take us on the "route" to temples, rice terraces, holy water springs, and a waterfall we can swim in. (Challenge being...get in and out of swimwear while your surrounded by other people!) We were exhausted after being dropped off and Amelia had a very early start the next morning at 2 am to climb Mt Batur. I decided to do what I said I was going to do here and find a yoga studio. I attended a transcending meditation class with singing Tibetan bowls and was whisked away into an amazing place within myself. This morning I woke up and made the decision to stay...to continue on this trip because all signs were pointing go. I think Thailand needed to rough me up a little and push me to a breaking point...and it did!
