Plus, the most important story I've read this week
This HuffPost story has been shared everywhere — it's possible you've already seen it — and for good reason. A San Francisco doctor's account of treating an 11-year-old patient who unknowingly was pregnant puts a human face on the abortion crisis going on right now. I'll let her own words do the talking: "I recall my focus ― my clear understanding that my only job was to ensure that I was there to protect my patient. That whatever happened, my job was to make sure that at every moment, Sophia was centered, and her mental and physical health were the priority. To make sure that she could find her way, in the midst of this trauma and unspeakable crime, and that her precious life was protected." I read this story with tears in my eyes and palpable tension in my chest. It's a very hard read, but a good one. Take a look. Xo, Ashley Rockman |

Mask requirements have lifted throughout the country over the past few months, but many people still choose to wear them — perhaps because they're immunocompromised or take care of a sick relative, they have unvaccinated kids at home… frankly, the reason doesn't matter in the slightest. Of course, that doesn't stop people from commenting on it — "mask harassment," as it's been called. |
