Thursday, May 12, 6:30-8 p.m. ET
Former U.S. Poet Laureate Tracy K. Smith and composer Gregory Spears will discuss their new opera "Castor and Patience" in a performance of excerpts on the stage of the Library's Coolidge Auditorium. The new opera will have its world premiere in July at Cincinnati Opera.
Join us for a dance party on the steps of the Library's Thomas Jefferson Building, where we celebrate the music of 2022 Library of Congress Gershwin Prize honoree Lionel Richie.
Join us for a Concert from the Library of Congress featuring musician Johnny Gandelsman. Admired for his performances with three groundbreaking contemporary ensembles—Brooklyn Rider, The Knights, and the Silk Road Ensemble—Gandelsman curated the project by asking composers "to reflect on the times we find ourselves in."
