And is monkeypox a virus the U.S. should be worried about now?
When I got COVID in early April, I found out via an at-home rapid test. I woke up on a Friday morning with some congestion so I took one. Sure enough, my results confirmed my suspicion. I hunkered down until I cleared the infection (which thankfully wasn't severe because of my vaccine and booster). This scenario is becoming more and more common thanks to the improved availability of at-home tests. But there's one additional step experts say we should take when we first test positive — and not enough of us are doing it. |
Keep scrolling for more COVID news you should know right now, plus some (rather calming) insight on monkeypox. And a quick note: This newsletter is taking a break for the next two weeks while I'm out of the office. We'll be back in June with more of the wellness wisdom you know and love (and you can always see the latest stories here). Until then, take care of yourselves! ❤️, Lindsay |

Got a spare minute? Use it to change your life. Our "A Minute And Change" series will help you become happier, healthier and more productive by doing one thing a little differently. This week's tip comes from Peloton instructor Kendall Toole on the type of content she refuses to consume or produce on social media to protect her mental health. She told me: 'What I Eat In A Day' videos need to go. It doesn't allow for nuance. You're not seeing what someone eats in a week, a month or over the course of a year … we need to make sure we acknowledge the power of the platforms we're using. Everyone's body is different and there are different caloric needs. It's very personal, and it's empowering when you recognize that. What works for one person is not going to work for everyone else. It's not one-size-fits-all. | |
