HARRIS' COVID ANNOUNCEMENT SETS OFF ANOTHER WAVE OF DISINFO Vice President Kamala Harris said this week that she is not experiencing COVID symptoms despite having tested positive. But instead of being seen as a vaccine success story, it triggered another round of misinformation from vaccine opponents and COVID deniers. [HuffPost] ZELENSKYY SAYS FIRST RUSSIAN SOLDIERS CHARGED IN BUCHA CRIMES Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that almost a dozen Russian soldiers have been charged for crimes committed against civilians in the town of Bucha, a horror documented in photos and videos taken after the Russian military withdrew. "None of these bastards will avoid responsibility," he said. [HuffPost] PREGNANCY FROM RAPE IS 'OPPORTUNITY' FOR WOMEN, SAYS REPUBLICAN TRYING TO BAN ABORTION Ohio state Rep. Jean Schmidt (R) introduced her anti-abortion measure to a House committee. The bill is a trigger ban that would outlaw abortions in the state if the Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade. Despite a widespread belief that many plastics are recyclable, less than 9% of plastics were recycled in the U.S. in 2018. [HuffPost] CHARLOTTESVILLE MARCHER NOW DISAVOWS WHITE NATIONALISM Evan McLaren, who played a pivotal role in the American white supremacist "alt-right" movement, published a surprise statement renouncing his past racist and antisemitic activism. "My revulsion for conservatism and the political right wing is total. I reject and disavow my past actions, views, and associations," he wrote on Substack.
