Virtual Workshop April 28 for Study on Small-Scale and Community Renewable Energy Projects The Oregon Department of Energy has scheduled four virtual workshops this spring and summer for the HB 2021 Study on Small-Scale and Community Renewable Energy Projects. The first workshop, which will evaluate barriers and opportunities associated with different ownership models for small-scale renewable energy projects, will be held virtually from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 28. Members of the public are welcome to listen in as work group members and department staff discuss findings and consider content to include in the final report. There will be a chance for public comment as well. Meeting materials, including a link to log in to the meeting, will be available on our website. 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Background In 2021, the Oregon Legislature directed the Oregon Department of Energy to convene a diverse workgroup of Oregon stakeholders to examine opportunities to encourage development of small-scale and community-based renewable energy projects that can contribute to economic development and local energy resilience. Based on the workgroup's findings, ODOE will produce a report describing the current status and trends for small-scale renewable energy development. The final report is due to the Legislature by September 30, 2022.
