The Graduate Student Council and the Guarini School of Graduate and Advanced Studies put on a "3 Minute Thesis Competition" last week at Moore Hall. The April 7 event saw 17 graduate students deliver a quick pitch about their research—all talk, no slides—in front of colleagues and judges.
Peter Orner, the director of creative writing, discusses Eudora Welty's 1952 short story, "No Place For You, My Love," on Texas Public Radio. It's about a man and a woman who meet at a social gathering in New Orleans and go for a drive.
"The field experiment is over, but in some ways the adventure continues," says the professor of engineering about the MOSAiC Arctic climate expedition.
