This isn’t a theory; it’s a method.
In 2021, we averaged one Page 1 ranking per week for our client, Gerard Malouf and Partners. That’s 52 Page 1 keywords, including 16 new position 1 keywords:
From those 52 rankings, GMP won more than 1,200 conversions, 973 of which had clear commercial intent (phone calls, service inquiries).
And I’ll tell you exactly how we did it:
- Keyword selection. A keyword’s search volume, competitiveness, and intent predict qualified traffic (the type that converts) to be gained from ranking on Page 1. We choose from tens of thousands of possible keyword targets, keeping our client’s site authority in mind.
- SERP Analysis. What topics do we cover to ensure we’ve answered every question about this keyword that a user might have? We analyze the SERPs to find out, including all of the on-page content for the top-20 results.
- Synthesis. The data guides us as we craft content that does a better job covering all those topics than the 20 million or so other pages competing for our chosen keyword.
It sounds so simple when I distill it down to 3 steps.
And it really works (55% of the keywords we targeted for GMP are on Page 1 of Google).
But only if you do it right.
Let me show you how we can get similar results for your company.
Cheers,
Michelle
