Plus, some solo travel tips
It's the latest social faux pas to take over Twitter: Earlier this month, a Los Angeles-based comedian tweeted that she had attended a dinner party at a friend's house and later received a Venmo charge for it. And because I know you're curious, the meal was penne alla vodka — not filet mignon and shrimp cocktail. People were quick to chime in with their own anecdotes about being charged unexpectedly post-dinner parties, and on the flip side, their stories of asking people to chip in. We couldn't let the moment pass without asking etiquette experts for their takes. Xo, Ashley Rockman |

My colleague Wendy Lu wrote a wonderful story for HuffPost Personal this week about her and her partner's nine year relationship and why — despite societal expectations and prodding — they're not married. "For us, getting married doesn't mean proving our commitment to each other — we've already done that over the last nine years. Getting married, for us, means celebrating all that we've gone through and everything that's to come," she writes. "In the end, it could still be another week, a month or a year before we get married. The important thing is that it's up to us." |
