It’s lucky for us single folk too when Valentine’s Day falls on a weekend! This means we can’t avoid it by hiding behind our desks at work. Let’s face it, there will be couples everywhere this weekend. You have no other choice but to embrace the day and make it into something fun for you.
Morning Work Out
Make your Valentine’s day a productive one. Don’t stay home and sulk just because you had someone for last year. Wake up an hour earlier than you usually would on the weekends, and throw on those Nike’s . I suggest going for a jog in the park, or a short hike. Embrace the day to its fullest by enjoying the greenery of nature and moving to your favorite playlist. Exposure to light and exercise will help increase your serotonin levels, leaving you feeling happy.
Champagne Brunch
Just because you aren’t “with” someone, doesn’t mean you need to be alone! Call up some of your single friends and make a brunch date. After your awesome morning workout, you’ll be in a great mood ready to drink, eat and spend time with some of good friends (AKA your longest relationships). It’s the perfect opportunity to catch up and gossip about exes past.
Treat Yourself
Been holding out on buying that cute pair of Steve Madden pumps? Well, maybe you should just splurge and buy them! Go shopping, and pick up a few things for yourself you’ve been meaning to buy. Retail therapy is the best kind of of therapy!
Not in the mood to shop? Don’t worry about feeling alone when you go to see How to Be Single, I would say it’s fair to assume a large portion of the audience is there for the same reasons you are. Come on, you know you want to grab some popcorn and get your guilty pleasure on.
Homemade Dinner
At the end of the day, you deserve a nice homemade dinner. Let’s be honest, it’s a lot more satisfying to make it yourself. There’s no point in going out to eat when you can jump on Pinterest and dig up that cajun chicken pasta pin from months ago. Maybe you could pair it with some cheesecake brownies? Why? Because chocolate really does make everything better.
