As the heat of the summer sun slowly seeps into your skin, nothing beats the experience of getting some saltwater action. But what if you live in an area where the beach is too far away? The next best thing is to take a quick dip at a resort which has a flurry of man-made pools.
What Vacationers & Locals Need to Know about Shanghai’s Weather
Let’s say that you live in or are travelling to Shanghai in China. This huge city is the largest and most developed in China, and you will never go wrong when deciding to explore more of what the place has to offer.
Shanghai sits on the vast Yangtze River delta on the east coast part of the country, located around halfway between Beijing and Hong Kong. Spending merely one day in Shanghai is definitely not enough to cover its many districts, divided into the inner districts of Puxi and the outer districts of Pudong.
Shanghai is a pleasant mixture of the east and the west – with colonial towns, temples, a district dubbed as the “Paris of the East” and all the modern amenities that you can imagine.
Now, what about the weather in Shanghai? This people-packed city has a humid subtropical climate with summer, autumn, winter and spring. Summers in Shanghai can become a bit humid – and the best way to beat the heat is by taking a quick dip in the pool or the beach.
Dino Beach Water Park’s Fake Beach is no Less Fun!
The problem is that for most Shanghai residents and visitors, hitting the beach require travelling to the Shanghai City Beach, located on the north bank of Hangzhou Bay. This usually takes quite a long trip – so the alternative would be to spend your day frolicking at a water park called Dino Beach. Here, the beach might be fake, but the fun is no less real.
Dino Beach water park is only a short drive away from Shanghai. The ‘beaches’ are actually man-made with several huge pools where you can cool off. As the name implies, Dino beach has dinosaur-themed decors but they took it one step further by having Speedo-wearing and Baywatch-inspired life guards scattered within the area.
Dino Beach is popular for offering Asia’s biggest wave pool, where you can be on top of your inflatable and simply relax with other locals and tourists frequenting the place. During the height of summer, Dino Beach can be a bit crowded – but that’s where all the fun lies.
A few things to keep in mind before hitting Dino Beach. If you want to discover what the place is all about, try to visit on a weekday when things are much quieter. Food cannot be brought into the water park and no alcohol is served either. For an additional fee, you can rent a locker and keep your towel there – then mingle with the crowds and have some water theme park fun year-round in Shanghai’s Dino Beach!
