Highly recommend for everyone to visit, tourists and native New Yorkers!
5 floors of various styles of art from paintings to short films that any crowd can enjoy observing! Bathrooms found on every floor. Big plus for the nice outdoor space to sit and admire sculptures and garden. There's a designated place to eat but I didn't try the food.
Also, the security is great about enforcing mask compliance!
Along with exciting new installments and famous contemporary art that everyone's definitely seen - starry night! I didn't expect to see so much Pablo Picasso!
I would only critique the lack of descriptions for certain artworks, sometimes it's just a title and no background.
Even if you can't visit the main exhibits, the public store is worth checking out!
If your an Art fan this is definitely the place for you. The museum features 5 floors as well as east and west wing of Art. I found the museum to be too hot but overall, the flow worked and the attempts to be COVID safe seems to be working. The museum was filled with guess reviewing the extremely large collection of Art.
A truly inspiring place. It kind of reminds me of Tate Modern in London (without the gear location that one has). It's the place to see many masterpieces after the modern art we've seen tlnst of times in text books. It well organized and it's now crowded thanks to less covid restrictions. They do offer students discount (didn't check for ID at the door). The outdoor section is still closed. Go with an open mind and get inspiration!
A great museum. The building is another work of art. Very good for families, they have a game for them to interact with the collection, drawing some pictures and finding some paints or sculptures like a treasure hunt, great for having them entertained and having fun.

I loved looking at the art and walking around. Staff was not so great. A guard was absolutely rude to us. There was a two feet rule and instead of calmly telling us he screamed at us and caused a seen when there were no signs of it so we didn’t know. People were equally as close to the art as we were yet he chose to yell at us and let the other people do the same thing. He basically followed us around and complained about our masks when they were covering our mouth and nose. We asked for his name and he refused to give it to us at first then he finally shoved his id in our faces for us to read then left but came back just to ask us why we need his name. We reported him for being so rude and got a refund. Other than that it was a beautiful museum, staff just makes it not feel welcoming

The eating area was a little disappointing. They had plenty of space, but you weren't allowed to use it. The area you were allowed to use was tiny and in high demand, so there was a long line and a long wait and once you sat down to eat, you were limited to 15-20 min for your meal. If they would utilize the entire patio area, more people could eat and enjoy the atmosphere. When you pay $15 for chips and dip, you don't wanna cram it down your throat and not even get to chew.
I'm usually wouldn't consider an art museum as my first choice to spend a day and bought into the stereotype of wild and overreaching analysis by art critics. Happily surprised that the placards next to the displays were informative and believable and really did help me appreciate the exhibits. Would recommend even for indifferent art fans and assume it's a must for those more serious about the subject
Visited MomA several times but today’ visit was a huge disappointment. Right at the entrance I was told to get rid of the banana that i brought with me to have a snack after a long visit. I have food allergies and restrictions. I cannot eat whatever. If not the ticket bought ahead of time due to COVID, I simply would not come. During the visit I wanted to make a sip of water from my bottle. It’s quite stuffy inside and because of wearing a mask, I don’t feel well without a fresh air as well as my mouth and throat get dry. Immediately a supervisor ran into me telling to close the bottle and go somewhere in the garden to drink!! I should have taken elevator to go to the garden to drink water, what?! When I wanted to wash my hands in the lady’s bathroom, the water was only hot. I payed 25$ to experience stress during my whole visit. My friend felt the same! I visit the Mets & Guggenheim museums pretty often as I live in the area and I always feel welcomed there with my water, food or whatever. Starting from today MoMA is a “NO” for me and I would never recommend it to my friends.
The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) has the world's most important collection of Modern Art. Almost every piece is a masterpiece. Who could imagine seeing Vincent van Gogh's " The Starry Night" close up? It must be worth hundreds of millions of dollars. The trouble with Modernism is that it has become mainstream. It no longer shocks. Dada, even if no-one understands it, has almost become a cliche. As for Impressionism, it was the last truly beautiful artistic movement.
