The New York Botanical Garden is a botanical garden located at Bronx Park in the Bronx, New York City. Established in 1891, it is located on a 250-acre site that contains a landscape with over one million living plants; the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory, a greenhouse containing several habitats; and the LuEsther T. Mertz Library, which contains one of the world's largest collections of botany-related texts. As of 2016, over a million people visit the New York Botanical Garden annually
. NYBG is also a major educational institution, teaching visitors about plant science, ecology, and healthful eating through NYBG's interactive programming. Nearly 90,000 of the annual visitors are children from underserved neighboring communities. NYBG operates one of the world's largest plant research and conservation programs. I really need to spend more time here! Just beautiful and green. I really enjoyed the serene walking paths and the gardens. The perfect place to spend a pandemic afternoon. I wish I had more time to explore some of the outdoor expositions that are available.

Excellent grounds. Huge garden with lots of walking areas. Tram is a good catch for those who don't want to walk so much. Must catch the Kusama exhibit before it ends in October. Metro north stop is convenient. Nice children's adventure park that had scavenger hunts and other activity. Great visit for all ages.

The botanical garden is beautiful. I loved the rainforest area. I went for the Kusama exhibition that was poorly set up, though, in particular the section about the bio of the artist, in a dark room where it was hard to read and where you had to bend to look at some signs.
Apparently masks are still required, even outside, not sure why.
The staff is not too pleasant, definitely not good at Customer Service.
Parking in front of the garden is easy. 20$/car.

Fun place to look at tons of different kinds of flowers. The food places are SUPER crowded, so I would suggest bringing your own food. Most of the botanical gardens indoor areas are closed because of Covid-19 but there is still more then enough to see.

Entered with a school pass. Did not allow entry to the indoor gardens or any special events. Paid $30 to park in the NYBQ lot even though it was advertised $20. Wasn’t going to pay another $35pp for the additionals like riding the tram. The Garden was beautiful still. Good hiking day 😊. Never knew you can canoe here.

Best place to see the cherry blossoms. It takes about 2-3 hours to walk the whole garden + an extra hour to see the hauft conservatory. For the lover of travels, there is a tram that ferries people around the garden with pit stops at all the lovely locations. What a way to enjoy nonstop.
There is something at every nook and corner... Surprises ... Azalea garden ... Cherry blossom path and the lilac garden. One can smell the intoxicating purple haze and then comes the colorful splash of magnolia trees. This is now my favorite garden in the city... And as if it wasn't enough, they have a brook snaking through the garden dividing it and there is a quaint little waterfall just besides the cherry blossom path.
I can't get enough of this garden. Will be back soon for adventures in the city.

This Bronx botanical garden is massive and a wonderful place to be. You would need half a day to go through all of it if you want to see everything in the garden. Simple enough, I loved it. It’s right beside the Bronx zoo. It features million of plants. It really gives you the feeling that you are not in New York City anymore. They have many mini gardens and greenhouse sections as well. It’s a great place to be if you are into nature and peaceful vibes. I’d definitely go again. Make your way there if you can.
I was so looking forward to see this exhibition since we couldn't attend other Kusama's exhibition a few years in Washington DC. This exhibition in the Garden is poor, lame, and overpriced especially Kusama Garden & Gallery Pass ticket. There are only 3 installations in the Gallery. They could put more exhibits on the grounds too. The Garden itself never disappoints and it's always beautiful.
My God what a waste of a day. My friend and I went yesterday for the Yayoi Kusama exhibit, and were severely disappointed. Firstly, the price for tickets is astronomical, on top of $20 for parking. It did not matter that tickets were timed, as the garden was still packed and lines were long. It was impossible to get on the tram because they were seating two people in sets of rows that actually fit eight.
The place is poorly run and heavily overpriced. Not to mention, the food is horrible.
No, No, No, if you’re planning a wedding ceremony. They are not accommodating, and their customer service skills are terrible. It’s too Pricey and they will try to keep any payments made to them, even if they did not do any work. They make you use their vendors, who are also pricey. Not worth it. There are other places in New Rochelle and in Westchester that are much nicer

My family and I unfortunately chose to go here for the Mother's Day garden party this year. We purchased tickets in advance as it was our first time and we weren't sure if tickets would sell out and wanted to ensure we had a reservation. HUGE MISTAKE. When the forecast called for pouring rain all day on Mother's day, my husband politely contacted NYBG via e-mail to ask if they would either refund our tickets or change them to a different day. NYBG absolutely refused to do so under any circumstances, citing their strict no refund policy on the tickets. So, we went to the Mother's Day garden party in the POURING rain with our 18 month old, 3 year old, and my 70 year old parents in tow. We also paid a whopping $20 per car to park there on top of the ticket price. There were no food trucks as advertised for the event and no lawn games (obviously). They had a DJ in the cafeteria and a card-making table with paper and crayons. That was it. To top off this fun adventure, every single staff member we encountered was rude and obnoxious. We ran through the rain to get into the conservatory, the only indoor place to actually see some plants, and after 20 minutes in there a staff member literally chased us down to tell us that we couldn't have our stroller inside and had to leave or take the children out of the stroller. I can completely understand a "no stroller' policy, but shouldn't they tell you to leave your stroller upon entrance? Also, on this particular day there were approximately 4 other people inside the conservatory (probably the only other 4 clueless people to purchase advance tickets to NYBG) - so really, who was adversely impacted by the stroller? So we took the kids back out into the pouring rain to walk to the card-making event. While there, one of the only decent staff members informed us that NYBG tickets never sell out as they have an unlimited amount per day. SO WHY WOULDN'T THEY LET US USE OUR TICKETS ON A DIFFERENT DAY? NYBG - I fully understand the disclaimers on your tickets (i'm an attorney) but from a public policy and customer service perspective, you are in the wrong. I urge you to change this policy that makes absolutely no sense and serves no purpose other than to cheat those who are clueless enough to purchase advance tickets. Long story short - DO NOT EVER PURCHASE ADVANCE TICKETS TO NYBG AS IT IS A COMPLETE SCAM! On a side note, the NYBG is a much less child friendly place than I was expecting. No strollers are allowed in many buildings, leaving you to carry your little ones or let them meander around. There were also no high chairs in the cafeteria. Very disappointing for families looking to spend a nice day there.
