Butterfly Valley Guide Travel

Fethiye Butterfly Valley is one of the 100 mountains proposed to be preserved as a world heritage due to the endemic species that it possesses. The Valley of Butterflies located on the piedmonts of Babadag mountain was declared a natural protection area on February 8, 1995, and restricted to all kinds of constructions. If it had not been restricted that time, we would not have such a natural beauty today

Reviews about this place

  • Azizullah Durrani Butterfly Valley is one of the most striking places in the environs of Fethiye with its unique view and peaceful atmosphere. This rocky and pine covered valley is home to roughly 100 species of butterflies, creating a protected oasis where time seems to stand still. Olive, pomegranate, lemon, orange, grape, walnut, peach, apricot, oleander and laurel trees grow in the valley.Surrounded by the hills of 350 m high, Butterfly Valley is at the sea level. The deep and steep structure covers 10 hectares. With its cyristal clear sea, sparkling pebble beach, small waterfall and decorative flowers, the valley is a paradise on earth and meeting point for travelers. A magnificent nature, azure sea between the rocks, wonderful greenery and endless silence that will never leave you. You can swim here. The water is extremely clean and calm.
  • There is a camp facility in the valley. You can stay in tents or choose bungalow houses. Tents are quite small. If you want to stay in a large tent, you can take your own tent with you.
  • One of the most magical and beautiful place I saw in 🇹🇷 Note: take the comfort shoes and no hand bags if you going there through Likya Way
  • Absolutely stunning and tranquil hike...in late October. I did the 1,5 hour round trip hike and only saw one other person. Can imagine that with the crush of summer crowds it would be less fun, especially since large parts of the hike are dependant on ropes that can only be used in one direction. The hike is technically challenging in a way that is still totally accessible to the average person. I'd say kids above 7 could do it. Don't expect to see butterflies.

  • Beautiful and quiet place with beach, cafe and free enterance. Important: The descent into the valley is held on a cliff by a rope, without insurance and rescuers . Important: reaching the valley partly is proceed by going down the cliffs on a rope! Not recommended for physically unprepared and afraid of height people. Such people can rest in cafe on top of the valley.

  • You need to take a boat to get here as it's not accessible by road. We took the boat from Oludeniz beach. It's nice beach. Clear water and beach is clean. There is a bar, restaurant, and toilets in here. Food and drink are quite reasonably priced. You can do trekking with 6 TL entrance fee. We didn't do it as didn't have enough time. If you can't take a boat, you can drive and see this place from the top. Amazing too!
