Perth is the largest city of Western Australia and capital of the state. it is situated on the banks of Swan River and is bounded by hills Darling on the east. The city is large and has population of over 1.6 million citizens from many different nationalities. Located on a picturesque bay on the western corner of Australia, Perth is quite remote and isolated from the rest of the country. Perth is modern prosperous city with a rich history, mild climate and plenty of things to see in it.

Here is located also the most prominent landmark of the city – the 83-meter glass stalagmite of Swan Bell Tower. The futuristic tower is located on the coastal Berak Street and resembles a spaceship or some futuristic building. On the top floor of the tower there is an observation platform from which opens a magnificent view to the river and the ocean, which shores are ten kilometers away.





 The biggest attraction of the tower, however, are the bells, which are carried over from “St Martin” church on the famous square “Trafalgar” in London. Most of the interesting sights of Perth are scattered around the streets near the elegant modern boulevard “St George’s Terrace”.




Along with the shiny skyscrapers there are a supposedly authentic style buildings “Tudor” and really old buildings, including the cathedral “St George”. Definitely here you will enjoy the nice monuments and beautiful structures of the classical Australian architecture. However, the city is filled of parks and nice places for walks. By now you understand that Perth is not the urban jungle of concrete, steel and glass.  Like any self-respecting Perth has a cultural center, but unusual here is that part of it is the old prison, whose cells, a chapel and rooms of guards attract many visitors. To enrich our notion of Perth, however, it is better to visit a museum, gallery and even the local zoo.
