Ancient Civilization of the Mexico’s natural wonders

Mexico is a place of natural wonders, archaeological sites, historical spots, beautiful beaches and majestic mountains. It is not possible to do all sites at one go or in a single trip. San Cristobal de las Casas: Centrally located in the state of Chiapas, San Cristobals is an architectural wonder of Mexico. It is known for its ancient connections with the Zapatista revolution. Visit to the Baroque architecture of the Temple of Santo Domingo should be first on the list. Known for its Renaissance style of interior, handwork carvings and the gold, this temple has some of the earliest wall paintings and woodwork. The textile museum, Na Bolom cultural center, Laguna Miramar and Templo de San Cristobal are the city’s attractions.



Palenque: The oldest Mayan city founded before the seventh century, holds ruins that date back to the 225 BC. Palenque is located in the lush Chiapas jungle and is home to the spectacular Azul waterfalls. The friendly local would take extra pleasure showing you around the impressive archaeological structures, temples and inscriptions. The flora fauna and wildlife are worth experiencing. Don’t be surprised if you spot howler monkeys, colorful macaws and toucans.
Merida Cathedral: Merida is the capital of the famous Yucatan Peninsula and also the cultural and financial center of Yucatan. One can walk along the colorful houses and the Plaza Mayor that is towered by the oldest Cathedral of America. The Merida Cathedral has an interesting history to it, so opting for a local guide would be the best option. Chichen Itza: The most beguiling Mayan archaeological sites and also a temple are this wonder of Mexico, called Chichen Itza that was built by the Mayans. The city of Chichen Itza was found in the 10th century. The place is known for its astronomical connotation too. Built in a pyramid shape, the site has 91 steps on each side. These steps when added to the top shared steps make a total of 365, signifying the number of days in a year.



Playa Del Carmen: A beautiful city located along the Caribbean Shore around Cancun. This place is loud with nightlife, cosmopolitan public, souvenir shops and last minute shopping for visitors. This long stretch of sea-coast offers all water sports including scuba diving, snorkelling, swimming with sea-turtles and sailing. One can take a ferry to enter the deep turquoise waters to explore the reefs and islands. If you are one of the explorers, ride to Tulum, an unusual Mayan building that sets itself on a palm-enveloped beach.
